TP-Link TL-WR841N Openwrt build that works properly.

The build available on Openwrt wiki contains unnecessary software packages and has barely any space left to install more.

I compiled this build to match all the functionality that is available in the stock TP-Link firmware.

WARNING: DRAGONS AHEAD.

You can brick your device with the following information.

I am not responsible for bricked devices, thermonuclear war, or you getting fired because the network failed. Please  do some research if you have any concerns about features included in this image before flashing it! YOU are choosing to make these modifications, and if  you point the finger at me for messing up your device, I will laugh at you.

I am not including any instructions as a fail-safe to make sure that you read the wiki properly before flashing.

Have fun!

  1. Thank you for making these builds and sharing them. I am interested to know which packages you added to them, as I am about to build mine based on Chaos Calmer too but seeing someone else's choices can be useful. Many thanks.

  2. Thank you very much for creating this custom build. I was getting very low wifi speed on Barrier Breaker and have read that Chaos Calmer improves this, but after upgrading to it went stuck at trying to install Luci because of no enough space on the device... Your custom build saved my day! ;)

I hope to see you updating it from time to time or at least when final release is ready.

By the way, all links are dead except the v9 (the one I needed hopefully).

  3. I am glad it helped you! This is exactly why I put these here.

Unfortunately I had to delete my build machine. Along with it went the package list and builds. I'll post my method and research so someone can create and update these. This router is very popular so this is a must.
